Springfest in the Park

Nothing helps to beat the winter blues than to get outside in the fresh spring air and get your dirt quotient by planning your garden. A great place to help in your search is to attend the second annual Spring Fest in the Park at the Anson B Nixon Park in Kennett Square, PA.

April 25, 2009     10-3pm

Come and explore the vendors tents, under the tree canopy, next to the ponds of the park. There you will find gardening supply vendors, plant societies, garden clubs, up-coming farmers market information. Take home a basket of flowers and  a wealth of knowledge to help you with your garden endeavors.

Free things to see and do at the Second Annual Springfest in the Anson B Nixon Park on Saturday April 25, 2009

Admission, parking, activities and demonstrations are all offered free of charge.  Informative garden talks will be given and also free seedlings to the first 50 attendees.
In honor of International Taiji Day, Dr. Xiahao Cheng will lead a Yang style Taiji and Qigong demonstation. Also a talented musician, Dr Cheng will also perform on the Chinese Violin.
Springfest participants include W D Wells & Associates, landscape designers; Londonderry Greenhouses selling bountiful, blooming hanging baskets; Four Seasons Garden Club and Community Gardens of Chester County. Other community partners include The Paper Market with organic and fair trade items, The Produce Place with fresh fruit and vegetables and the Kennett Symphony of Chester County. Plant Societies include the Delaware Valley Daylily Society and The American Camilla Society. Memeber's of the Anson B Nixon Park's Community Garden will be on hand to accept applications for free garden plot reservations.
